Data Logger
What is data logger? Before this I just heard about the name of this thing but I have no idea about what it is actually. During the class of ICT in SCIENCE, I learn about this data logger especially on how to use it, the function of it and when the suitable time I can use this data logger. Actually data logger is an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrument or sensor or via external instruments and sensors. Increasingly, but not entirely, they are based on a digital processor or computer.
Besides, data loggers vary between general purpose types for a range of measurement applications to very specific devices for measuring in one environment or application type only. It is common for general purpose types to be programmable; however, many remain as static machines with only a limited number or no changeable parameters. Electronic data loggers have replaced chart recorders in many applications.
I am so excited during the instructor conducted me and my friends on how the data logger functionally. We tried to demonstrate it by ourselves. Data logger generally is very small, battery powered, portable and equipped with the microprocessor, internal memory for data storage and sensors. Beside that, some data logger interfaces with a personal computer and utilize software to activate the data logger and view and analyze the collected data, while others have a local interface device and can be used as a stand-alone device.
Data logger can be used to automatically collect the data and record the information for the duration of the monitoring period. From what I can see in the class lesson, data logger allows us to collect the data about the comprehensive, accurate picture of the environmental conditions being monitored, such as air temperature and relative humidity. Besides, most instrument manufacturers consider a data logger a stand-alone device that can read various types of electrical signals and store the data in internal memory for later download to a computer and data logger performs many tasks other than just recording signals, which is why many a times data logger is often termed as multi-functional ability device. The basic advantage of the logger is that it can read and detect any type of electrical signals. Compared to any other similar products, data recorder can read the signal in a much faster time period. Then when t it reads the entire signals, it transfers the recorded data to its internal memory. Now once this data gets stored in the internal memory, we can easily access it and download straight to our computer. In case we do not use the computer then also we can access the data.
As the conclusion, by using the data logger I can record my body temperature especially. Many usage of data logger helps us to collect the data easily.
