INFORMATION COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Information Communication and Technology or ICT is usually a more general term that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of the telecommunication like computer, middleware as well as necessary software, storage-an-audio-visual system, which enable users to create, access, store, transmit and manipulate information. In the other words, ICT consists of IT as well as telecommunication, broadcast media all type of audio and video processing and transmission and network based control and monitoring functions.

         The term ICT is now also used to refer to the merging (convergence) of audio-visual and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to merge the audio-visual, building management and telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution and management. This in turn has spurred the growth of organizations with the term ICT in their names to indicate their specialization in the process of merging the different network systems.

          ICT includes any communication device or application and encompassing like radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as videoconferencing and distance learning. ICTs are often spoken of in a particular context, such as ICTs in education, health care, or libraries.

        In ICT''s class, I learned about the uses of SMART BOARD, what is DATA LOGGER. Using SMART BOARD really interesting for me, I can physically touch the board. Although sometime it  really test my patience. DATA LOGGER, help me in keep data for my experiment and assignment. Using DATA LOGGER, I can automatically record and save the data for every seconds. The data that got during the experiments also more accurate and save the time. During ICT's, I also learned how to make E-PORTFOLIO for my subjects. In E-PORTFOLIO I can use it to share my works that related to my science subjects. 

         As the conclusion, ICT's importance lies less in the technology than in its ability to create greater access to information and communication. Many countries around the world have established organizations for the promotion of ICTs, because it is feared that unless less technologically advanced areas have a chance to catch up and the increasing technological advances in developed nations.
